Yes you can! Though please note, wherever the therapist is located and licensed, you agree that the location of the therapy is where your therapist is located, even if you're seeing the therapist online. IMPORTANT: If you are from the UNITED STATES. The majority of our providers are from English-speaking countries outside of the United States. United States laws vary from state to state. Our US-based providers may not be able to help you, though it is possible they can provide educational services to you. Ask your counselor for more details before starting a paid session.
If your therapist is located in, say, New Zealand, then your therapy is under the licensing rules and laws of New Zealand regardless of your location. You are free to choose any therapist you want, just remember that legally, you are visiting the therapist at their location and the laws of that location are the laws that will govern your session, even if that session is online. If you see a therapist from outside of your state or country, just remember that licensing rules are different for each state and country. It's up to you and your therapist to be sure you understand how that might affect you.

For messaging therapy you can use any device (PC, Laptop, Tablet, Smartphone)! For webcam sessions you need to have a PC, laptop or Android device with a webcam, microphone, high speed internet (upstream and downstream speeds of at least 400 kilobyte/second) and an up-to-date browser (Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox). At this time, the video system does not work on Safari or devices running iOS.
Messaging plans starting as low as $25/week. A single video session costs $75. Generally, though, fees are significantly less than you would pay for the same service "in person". The first evaluation session via webcam is always free, so you can make sure you and your therapist will be able to work together efficiently in the future. Learn more about plans and pricing.
It depends on the individual and the counselor, but a typical session lasts about 45 minutes. You can have as many or as little sessions as you feel comfortable with - our counselors are very flexible and will help you to work out a treatment plan that suits you.
You can do the session from home or anywhere you like. We typically see best results when you are in a quiet room free of distractions so you can focus on the interactions with the counselor.
Any rescheduling or changes to the appointments must be made via email to support@psychnook.com at least 24 hours prior to the session, otherwise the full session fee will be charged.
